Important legal information about using Guardigo and our services
By downloading, installing, or using Guardigo ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Guardigo is a community-driven travel safety application. Users can submit and view location-based safety alerts — including reports of scams, theft, unsafe areas, and other hazards — displayed on an interactive map. The App is intended to supplement, not replace, official travel advisories and local emergency services.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Guardigo. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
To use Guardigo, you must create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may delete your account at any time through the App's profile settings.
Guardigo relies on user-submitted safety alerts. When you submit an alert, you grant Guardigo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and distribute your submission within the App. You agree to:
Guardigo reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms or is deemed harmful.
The Guardigo App — including its design, source code, branding, and original content — is the property of Guardigo and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the App without prior written permission.
Guardigo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of user-submitted content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guardigo and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Travel inherently involves risk. Guardigo is a supplementary information tool and should not be your sole source of safety information. Always exercise personal judgment, follow local laws, and consult official government travel advisories.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, submit fraudulent reports, or engage in abusive behavior. You may terminate your account at any time by using the delete account option in the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App. Continued use of Guardigo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

With your permission, we access your device's location to center the map and allow you to place alerts. Location access is requested only while you are actively using the App (foreground only). We do not track your location in the background or store your movement history.
Technical Data
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited data only in these circumstances:
Your data is stored on secure servers managed by Supabase, which implements encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security practices. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we initiate removal of your personal data. Some data may be retained for a limited period to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Guardigo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App. Continued use of Guardigo after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Guardigo is a community-driven platform. Safety alerts are submitted by users and reflect their individual observations and experiences. Guardigo does not independently verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or reliability of any user-submitted content.
Guardigo is designed to provide supplementary safety information for travelers. It should not be used as your sole source of travel safety information. Always consult official government travel advisories, follow local laws, and exercise personal judgment when traveling.
Guardigo is not an emergency service. In any emergency situation, contact local emergency services (police, fire, medical) immediately using your local emergency number. The App does not connect you to emergency responders or dispatch services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Guardigo, its developers, and its affiliates shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, damage, or harm — whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from the use of, or reliance upon, information provided through the App.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
